The French would probably balk at their cuisine being served out of a truck…
Nevertheless here are three Los Angeles food trucks that are dishing up delectable French delights.
French Food Trucks in Los Angeles
Chef Felipe C. serves “French food cooked with passion, with a Chilean twist.” Here is how Chef Felipe sums up The French Food Truck experience, “French food is liked and sought everywhere not because it’s fancy; it’s because every good French cook knows that you need to add an extra component when you’re in the preparation: love, affinity, esprit, joy, etc. That is our goal: to give you a plate of lovingly prepared food that will remind you of all those occasions when a meal turned out to be a memorable experience with love and contentment flowing. It’s something we all remember with a big smile on our face.”
Expect all the staples such as Beef Bourguignon, Ratatouille, and Chicken Provencal.
Nissa and Jeremie Banet serve “French food with an Algerian twist.” They specialize in Le Croque Monsieur. Here’s a description from their website: “We use an Artisanal French Bread: Le pain au levain, the traditional Jambon de Paris Lean, low-fat whole-muscle pork is slowly cooked, carefully seasoned before being sliced “en chiffonade”, Emmental (imported from the Alps), a classic bechamel and some Harissa (Tunisian spice for the kick that Southern Californians expect in their food).”
It all started in 2006 when Eileen and Joann DeLeoz savored their crepes under the Eiffel Tower. Although their website also says, “if you ask their parents, Alan and Josefa, they’d probably say growing up Filipino-American—the huge family gatherings and the endless days and nights cooking in the kitchen—that drove Eileen and Joann to Crepe’n Around.” With a Diplôme de Pâtisserie from Le Cordon Bleu Paris, you can guess that Eileen DeLeoz crafts her sweet and savory crepes seriously. And with her sister Joann at the helm for marketing and media relations, you can also be sure Crepe’n Around gives customers the ultimate French food experience.
American Food Trucks in Paris
Interestingly enough, The New York Times reported a small food truck invasion in Paris. Here are three food trucks in Paris that serve American food….
Hailing from the United States but trained at a highly-esteemed French culinary school, Kristin Frederick tantalizes French patrons with her gourmet burgers – some topped with bacon (the American kind). There’s even braised pork with coleslaw on the menu.
Jordan Feilders was raised in France but lived in California for a while. He moved back to Paris to serve up organic tacos and burgers. For dessert? Cupcakes of course!
Gourmet hot dogs served from a food truck in Paris. Wow.
